- Count full doors and windows — we deduct 21 and 15 sq ft each
- Choose pattern match waste (larger repeats need more waste)
- Pick roll type: US single (~27 sq ft) or European double (~56 sq ft)
Coverage assumptions
US single rolls typically cover about 27 square feet of usable wall after trim. European double rolls cover about 56 square feet. Always confirm the label — peel-and-stick panels and murals use different coverage.
Pattern match & waste
- None / random: 5% waste — solids and texture papers
- Small repeat: 10% waste — most residential prints
- Medium repeat: 15% waste — bold geometrics
- Large / mural: 20%+ waste — drop matches and panoramic panels
